Simple Green Beans

Have you ever had someone request a recipe for a dish that is so embarrassingly simple that you feel the need to fabricate extra ingredients and methods? Well, I’m taking that one step further and am now devoting an entire post to the simplest of dishes. Tender green beans, dressed with butter and seasoned. Embarrassingly easy yet deceptively delicious.

Simple Green Beans
Green beans
butter
parsley
salt and pepper.
Boil some water and make it salty with table salt. Top (or is it tail?) the beans (get rid of the bit that attaches to the plant). Boil for a few minutes until just softened. Drain, then toss with butter, chopped parsley and season. Serve

Ah brilliant! I did something similar with asparagus the other day! You should so enter this in one of the NTTC’s on my blog!
Ahhh simple but delish, just what I like ^^! Now need to combine with a steak and some mash and maybe a chocolate fondant dessert… or a souffle…
I recently got a chain email asking for recipes easy enough that you can remember them, but that taste delicious. You’ve hit the nail on the head with this one.
Absolutely! Green beans sauté with butter & garlic is one of my favorite *side* dishes.
Good call – I’ve used this so many times, it’s a reliable favourite.
Sneh: Yes, perhaps the next one! Are you allowed to enter previous posts?
FFichiban: Yes, the perfect old school though delicious meal! Except for the mash, I have a hate.
Arwen from Hoglet K: Thanks
Yas: *Side* dish that takes the prize, hey?
Miss Honey: Delicious isn’t it!
